To ddupre2: How I did it
Hi there

Thank you for your comments.

To take this (and the other image I have posted) I found a spot on a beach where there are rocks at the shoreline so that the sea water washes around them.

I was lucky in that these rocks have a weed growing on them which gives them the green colour which is not common here.

I then used a telephoto lens to frame the image as I wanted it, particularly with space around the rocks so they would be in contrast to the background. As mentioned in the note these colours appear only briefly after the sun has gone below the horizon so it was a case of taking may shots until there wasn't enough light left.

Finally I used speed priority settings at around 10 second exposure so the water would be blurred, again to provide contrast with the rocks.

Incidently, these two photos were taken on the Indian Ocean.

I look forward to seeing how you get on.

And now that you have mentioned it, perhpas I might start an Indian Ocean group (if there isn't one already).
