To Angshu: There were a lot of pigs too
 

so I thought perhaps they were food, but I hear the tigers are fed cooked chicken. The deer seem totally fearless.
I hadn't come across a link about poaching, but I suppose it is unsurprising. It's hard to interest people fighting for survival in ecology.
