I like the candid nature of your shot...the dynamic framing of the turban gives a sense of movement through the frame or if he was still a sense of pre-occupation beyond it. A nicely rendered situational portrait!

Good evening shot that is nicely composed. Thought at first, from the thumbnail, it was shot on the Gower coast in Wales. Bit warmer no doubt.

Good image. I always like shots with a low shutter speed and you have captured the sea movement perfectly. Great colours as well.

I like an image where my eyes can linger. Looking at the light the detail, wanting to look further into the distance. This image has it all. The vehicle gives size and space to the mountains and is positioned perfectly giving a splash of vivid colour to an almost colourless backdrop. There is plenty of detail in the landscape. An excellent image.

Forget the rule of thirds. Rules are made to be broken and it is the overall composition of an image that counts and you've scored highly here. You've placed the pebble just to the left of your composition and then your eyes follow the sand to the tide line to the cliffs in the background. Everything works well.

There is a criticism, which is a technical one and I mean it in no way to detract from your fine image but one which could improve your photography in future.

The cliffs are slightly out of focus. This is caused by your f3 aperture and fairly high shutter speed. What I would have done in this situation is to have had the camera tripod mounted and use aperture priority of at least f8. You could then focus on the top tip of the pebble. This could possibly be your hyperfocal point. The point at which, given the aperture and point of focus, would give the image sharp focus from slightly in front of the pebble to the cliffs in the background.

As I said this is a technical criticism. Personally I would love to have come across this scene and captured it as well as you.

Hi Tomek,

The soft tones combine with geometric delight in this shot. I especially like the POV and how you captured the shadows and slivers of light therein. It is a dreamlike shot, and I would like to walk forever down this long corridor with the heavens above.

Beautifully rendered - the angle and the drama of the sky re-kindle the sense of the Winds of War. I am perhaps not so in favour of the cut off of the jeep to the left - I think it's full inclusion would have added another dimension. Not sure if this was deliberate on your part to create a dynamic image which leads the eye away - maybe I would like to see two versions - the passive frame - where all the elements are contained and this one to look at the relative effects on the eye and the imagination.

The little vignette within the vignette at the top left of the photograph is delightful....I like the tight crop and sense of intimacy provided by the square format Ally and the light and contrast provide a unique visual impression....it is as if the candles are squeezing the children into a smaller and smaller space but their fascination and involvement as they are drawn closer together is entirely on the bewitching beauty of the flames. p.s. I use vignette in the literary sense - Vignette (literature), short, impressionistic scenes that focus on one moment or give a particular insight into a character, idea, or setting. A opposed to: Vignetting in photography, any process by which there is loss in clarity towards the corners and sides of an image. Your image does the opposite! ;-)

Amazing lighting, with an eerie effect definitely palpable. I like the point of view here and the way the high hill forms a backdrop against the sky. Very well done.

A very beautiful, tranquil and painterly image - I can smell the air and delight in the atmosphere - beautiful rendition and I love your composition - the dynamic elements of the image leaving left and right connect to the wider life around the image which the lens cannot see yet the power of the framing between the trees constantly catches the eye and the imagination drawing both in to the depth of the picture...lovely!
