I am part of the moderation team and your incredibly long note accompanying this photo is problematic. Indeed, it fully comes (uncredited) from Wikipedia... and that's it!
On this point, TE's Terms of Service are clear: It is not permitted to copy and paste sections of text off from other sites. If you wish to refer to information on other sites you must provide a link to that site instead.
I'm sure you have many things to tell about what you saw and felt there. So I suggest you to write a text more consistent with the objectives of TE in the coming days, otherwise your picture will be deleted.
Thank you in advance,

Dominique |

Even if I'm definitely not made of wood, your photo invites me to run to the nearest bookstore and read Pinocchio for the first time. Or should I watch once more every episode from the original Star Trek series? ;-)
This is really a stupendous vista, Konstantinos! The sky should be like that over Paris, from time to time...
By the way, I'm not very fond of your signature like that, riveting my eyes, but this is a very minor inconvenience.
Welcome on TE... and more to come, I hope!

This is one among many incarnations of fallen dreams, I guess.
Your picture reveals some kind of archeological interest, retelling (still vivid or nearly forgotten?) memories from a recent past for an uncertain present...
To enhance its impact, I think minor adjustments could be appropriate. So I made a workshop. I hope you'll like it.

it's quite difficult for me to judge a photo like this one, while not knowing the place.
Neverthless, I feel it could have been more interesting had you chosen a wider point of view. Either by taking advantage of the trunk and branches of the tree to fully structure the left and top sides of your picture or, with a landscape format, by framing a larger part of the building on the right and showing how the sculpture integrates itself - or not - with its surroundings...
I always keep in mind the motto of a famous Finnish architect, Eliel Saarinen: Always design a thing by considering it in its next larger context - a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan. It often works wonderfully well when photographing transplanted art pieces here and there.
Give it a try, one time or another... ;-)
Dominique
PS
I would also have prefered to read your own feelings and appreciations about the sculptor and his work, instead of a basic introduction lifted from Wikipedia. Beter luck next time, probably... |

I must confess that I don't know much about birds, except probably when it comes to braised pigeon with peas, small carrots and cider (the memory of it, at least, for I fear I haven't cooked or even tasted this particular dish for more than 25 years)...
Nevertheless, I do remember distinctly the last time I really paid attention to another gull, a black-headed specimen in fact, but without any sailing boat or flying plane nearby. ;-)
Back to your seagull, Marie Paule. I liked the way the wing feathers shone in the sunlight, contrasting with the overcast sky. But I also felt your photo could be slightly improved, so I made a workshop... something else I hadn't done for quite some time now.
I hope you'll like it.
Take care,

Good detail not only on the artistic print of the uniform, but also the surface texture of the cloth is quite well rendered.
