Nice portrait, haveing the subject of to one side really works and gives us an idea of the suroundings. A note for this photo would really add alot as I have to wonder what is he looking at?

Hi David,

I really like the energy in this shot, the use of the high shutter speed has really worked here. My only comment would be that the crop does not work perfectly for me. I don't know if this is as it was taken or not, but I feel either a wider crop to include all the horses or a tighter one to exclude more of the horse on the left would be better. At the moment I just get the feeling that you acidentally cut the horse's leg off and I do not think that that was really the case.

Hi,

Nice subject with a great moody sky. Only thing for me is that the super wide angle has made everything seem so far away. Did you take any shots from down at ground level? This would have give you more choice for forground intrest, maybe those red bouys or even just the reflection of the wet sand would have worked?

Nice picture with good composition, but its a shame you did not have a grad. ND filter with you. That would have brought out the forground a little more.

Nice picture, with great view point and depth. The inclusion of the sticks in the top right corner realy makes this shot.

Nice shot, I really like the angle, it looks like the car is really angry about being left to rot! :)

This image could look good in black and white too, have you tried that?

Great shot, very dramatic. It is a little over processed for my taste, but still great. I would love to see the origianl version. Maybe you could add it as a workshop?

Really nice shot. I like the soft colours and the way the rocks almost blend into the water. It is also nice to see some waves instead of the more normal mist caused by very long shutter speeds. Beautiful sky too.

Hi Ardi, welcome to Trek earth,

I really like this shot. you are right about the colours, they really give the whole picture a happy feeling. I just wish that the actual caravan would have been a little more in focus, but I can see from your camera settings that there was not much light to play with.

Nice shot, you have done really well with the lighting of this one as the situation looks really difficult. Only one thing, maybe you could clone out the lead and light buld in photo shop?

Welcome to trek earth, what a powerful photo to start with! The composition and the look on the girls face are excellent. The only negative for me is that the girl is much darker than the world outside the window. I think this draws the attention away from what I think should be the main subject.

I have done a quick workshop to try and balance the exposure and give more emphasis to the girl and her eyes.

I really like this shot, but for me the top of the photo is a little distracting. I have done a quick workshop which I think puts a little more focus on the main subject.

Nice photo, you have used a really nice composition here that is and that is somthing that is often forgotten in macro photography.

The only negative point for me is that the depth of field is a little too shallow. I see that you have used a shutter speed of 1/1000 so I think that you would have a bit to play with even when taking photos of a moving target! :) I would have thought the f8 would have been about right.

The subject, texture and contast of this shot are very nice. I just wonder if it would be even better with a tighter crop to remove some of the grass in the forground.

You got yourself in a good position for this shot and that is something that is not easy at these big events. I like the framing, but for me there is no real feeling of the incredible speed of these machines. Maybe you could try a few panning shots next time if you get the chance, I know that it is more risky, but the results can be fantastic.
