I think this is one of my favorite pictures you have taken. I really like rustic pictures. I enjoy the way you use black and white with color. You have also done well by not centering the can. The positioning provides for excellent composition. Well done. Philip

Brady, I'm not sure I would have used sepia in this shot especially after seeing the original. You lost the nice subtle coloring of the floor and depth because of a diminished range of values. I also think there is too much yellow in this sepia making it muddy. I think I use sepia for two reasons. One, I feel more inclined to use it in a shot that has a mono chromatic feel to it and I want to emphasize that feature and perhaps give it a little more color. Two, I would use it when I want to convey warmth in a shot. I had not really thought of this in-depth before so this is the first of my thoughts on the subject of sepia and definitely not the final word. I am interested now to explore this a little further. Concerning your composition, pov, and subject I feel you have really come a long way. This shot is excellent especially in color. This is my favorite of all of your gallery shots and one of my favorites of all your collection so far. I really like the negative space in this shot. You have really begun to understand the relevance of giving the eye guidance. The tilt of the shot makes me see the importants of the paper on the floor perhaps even adding to the confusion of what he is looking at. The picture coming in to the shot on the left pushes me back into the shot and the distance from the subject adds to the pensive feel this man is giving off. Not to mention you captured him in the perfect pose. He is crossing his arms, in a sense unwilling to accept or perhaps confused at what he is looking at. All of these elements and your artist eyes ability see and capture this make this shot excellent. Philip

The parallel between these two couples really communicates what you were after. Even the colors in the shot seem to aid in the story. The left seems heavier with the orange light and the right seems to lighter with feeling of reconciliation provided by the white light. One wonders however if the alcohol is talking or bringing the mood down on the left. I also really like how you gave the left side so much dominance. Hard conversations always seem so much larger then they really need to be. Well done, Philip

I like what you have going on in the right hand corner. I think that the combination of lines in the background and business on the left make the image a little distracting. I don't know where to focus my eye. My eye wants to go the two on the right but it keeps drifting because of all the noise around them. I have attached a workshop that may be of some help.

I know everyone else is saying this but I must echo them and say this a fantasticly composed shot. The timing of it is perfect. The tonal range of grays is wonderful. The eye goes right were you wanted it to. Good job. Philip

You sure have an eye for these things. He's playing cool and she's toying with him say come here, come here, come here, oh, oh, oh, slow down buddy, come here, slow down. Another thing that is interesting is the fact that the feminine posture seems so contrary to the hard edges of construction. It really stands out. The b&w really aids this shot. Philip

Brady this is a really good composition. I like the s-curve. There is a little tension were the top left hand curve touches the border. I'm not sure if it is helpful. I would be interested to see this shot re-cropped with a bit of grass in between the curve and the border. It may or may not help. This was a good find. Philip
