Photographer's Note

Eagle Aquaduct It is located near the village of Nerja, 50 kms. East of Malaga (South of Spain), at the Mediterranic Coast, south of a chain of mountains known as Sierra Almijara (its peak is 1800 meters high (5400 feet)).
This aquaduct was built during the XIXth Century under the direction of a local builder called Francisco Cantarero. Its structure is composed of four storeys of brick arcades with a total of 38 arches. It was built to supply several Sugar Mill factories processing sugar cane from local plantations which are dated in this area since the XVIth Century. Today, all sugar mill factories are closed but this aquaduct is still used to supply water to communal farmers.
Nowadays, however, this aquaduct menaces ruin and deserves a careful rebuilding to avoid its collapse.
