Photographer's Note

The neotropic cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus) is a bird that bears a superficial resemblance with ducks, but with completely different shaped beak, long, slender and with a hook at the tip. It feeds on fish and, when in the water, usually keeps only its head out.
