A picture taken, during a bike trip along the canal.

Trees along the canal.
The location is along both banks of the Damse Vaart and, as far as parallel with this canal, also along both sides of the Zuidervaart, between the R30 ring road around Bruges (west) and the N253 bypass of Sluis, the border Belgium- The Netherlands (east). The Damse Vaart connects the northeastern side of Bruges at the Dampoort (junction with the Ghent-Ostend Canal) with the west side of Sluis (intended connection Zwingeul of Westerschelde). The 13 km long canal with rising poplar crosses the polders northeast of Bruges and Damme, which belong partly to the former Zwinvlakte. The landscape is characterized by a urbanized area near Bruges, Koolkerke and Sint-Kruis, and by flat, open to semi-open agricultural areas near Koolkerke, Damme, Oostkerke, Hoeke, Lapscheure and Westkapelle, cross-sections through dikes and canals, which in many cases are accentuated By trees.
