History of the countryside of my place of residence:
Maldegem was a key glory in the county of Flanders, rich in possessions and feudal rights, but also by the appearance of her masters. The glory had no fewer than 130 behind borrow.
They had the higher court, until the 16th century was entitled spoken Reesinghe. Fourteen generations "of Maldeghem 'followed each other from around 1075. Familiar Salomon Maldeghem who would have participated in the crusade of 1096; Diederik, who helped punish murderers of Charles the Good; Franco, who held an influential position in 1232 as provost of St. cathedral.
The extraordinary courage of Philip III on the side of the Flemish count Guy of Dampierre in the fight against the French, Maldegem gave the title 'La Loyal' 'The Faithful'. The well-known magazine "t Faithful Maldeghem 'Victor De Lille will later keep this memory alive.
