Photographer's Note

The Coast to Coast Walk is probably as well known around the world as the song from yesterday post 'Are you going to Scarborough Fair ?' Well I imagine so, from the number of people from a huge variety of nationalities that come to pit themselves against our northern terrain. Conceived by A. Wainwright, the route wanders across northern England, picking up all the proponent's favorite places. It starts on the west coast,on the edge of our Lake District, and ends here in Robin Hood's Bay on the east coast. 190 miles in 14 days. Hard work by all accounts ! This view was taken after a leisurely drive, so I get none of the satisfaction of having walked there, but the view was pretty amazing all the same.
