Photographer's Note

In many ways we are like old boats...

We can have several layers of painting. They represent our defense mechanisms which are there to protect ourselves from the waters and dangers of life; but at the same time to cover our real self well within..., with time, as we grow old, the layers vanish and simultaneously, we become more genuine and sincere, but also weaker in a sense.

The scratches and wounds will serve mainly as a reminder of how we have lived, intensely or not, good or wrong.

The depth of the scars can tell much about a person.

The rusted bolts are our beliefs and values, that solidly keep our parts together.
They change as a normal consequence of time; but as long as they remain strong; they will keep ourselves ready for new and challenging journeys.

I think one can find many similarities more, with just a little reflexion.

This is the portrait of a boat, it can be anyone of us.
