Photographer's Note

In the Northeast of the State of Minas Gerais, as well as in the Northeast of Brazil, the carne de sol (sun beef) is present in nearly all meals. Developed from a technique to conserve meat - in which the salted beef is exposed to the sun or to the dew for a few days, the carne de sol has a distinguished flavor, and is a characteristic feature of several Brazilian regions. Tefilo Otoni is such a place, and in the newly-reformed municipal market, which we see in the picture, we have a good variety to choose from. And is a wonderful thing to eat along with freezing beer.
