Photographer's Note

The mountains in the background form the rim of Wilpena Pound, a large basin rimmed by cliffs. It is a syncline formed by folding of the rock layers 500 million years ago. Wilpena Pound is the most well known landform in the Flinders Ranges. This view is from Stokes Hill, looking west.
