Photographer's Note

When we went to the Brazilian Consulate in San Francisco last February, my wife requested that we go to Chinatown. I have my wife's Nikon 7900 with me so I was able to take pictures.

This photo was taken at Grant street near the Chinese gateway pagoda. Those colorful lanterns caught my eyes. This area is a colorful fusion of a Chinese market town and American main street. The Chinatown in San Francisco is a very densely populated 24 block core bounded ny Broadway Street, Montgomery, California and Powell Street. You must walk San Francisco's Chinatown to fully experience Chinatown's vibrant and intense character.
