Photographer's Note

Florida's Fort Mantanzas was built by the Spanish in 1740 to protect St. Augustine's from invasion by water from the south. It had cannons on top to fire upon invaders. The construction is the unique Coquina shell mixed with mortar.
Today it is a National Monument, and may be visited by guided boat tour.
