Photographer's Note

"Snee" is for an obsolete slang term referring to large knifes used in plantations.
Being the smallest house in Charles Pinckney estates, it was the weekend refuge for him and his family who owned many large plantations in South Carolina at the era of slavery.
This remnant of his coastal plantation is now preserved as a museum to tell the story of a forgotten "founder" and the lives of enslaved African Americans on South Carolina Lowcountry plantations.
