The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is a suspension bridge in the city of New York, United States, connecting the boroughs of Brooklyn to Staten Island. It was named after the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazano, the first European to have crossed the Narrows - a narrow strait separating the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn - and to have set foot on the site of the current New York.
The bridge regularly appears in reports on the New York Marathon, whose departure takes place on Staten Island. He also served in the shooting of the film Saturday Night Fever, in 1977, with John Travolta.
