Photographer's Note

Taken at Second Beach near La Push Washington. We think the lines are caused by the effect of the tide and small rocks under the sand. Whatever the cause the result is very interesting. The coast here in the northern part of Washington State is very rugged and wild with impressive rock formations. We saw Gray whales passing by and waving their flippers in the air. You can see this from the beach from March through April. La Push is a very beautiful region with lots of hiking trails along the beach.
