Photographer's Note

This is a picture of the John Day River close to a crossing called Cottonwood. It is on the highway from Wasco Oregon to Condon Oregon.

The John Day River circles through much of central/eastern Oregon. It is a small river at this time but over millions of years it has managed to cut many canyons through this area. This spot is one where many rafters put in to drift down it to the larger Columbia river. Fishing in the river is good at times and hunting is also a sport in this area.

Hope you enjoy.
