The Linq

Today three pictures of a Las Vegas building with a surprising exterior design, the Linq Hotel and Casino. The hotel has been renovated and renamed several times. The last update is form 2014 and was designed by Elkus- Manfredi Architects.
With this, in my view crisp, invigorating design, the owners wanted to express their new vision.
The Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Caesars Entertainment said:
““With The LINQ, we pioneered the creation of a new type of space for the changing Las Vegas consumer,…. The LINQ Hotel & Casino will continue this revolutionary approach by offering a complete lifestyle experience at one of the best locations in Las Vegas. The resort provides guests with a highly social and connected environment, with all the great restaurants, shops and experiences available at the LINQ promenade right at their fingertips.”

◙ In the main picture you see the bright reflection of the faηade of the Linq surrounded by the carnivalesque decoration of the reflecting faηade of Harrahs.
◙ The first workshop gives a total view of the faηade of the Linq
◙ The second workshop is an artistic close-up of a part of the faηade later that evening.

■ Originally opened in 1959 as the 180-room Flamingo Capri motel.
■ The resort was later reopened as the Asian-themed Imperial Palace in 1979.
■ In 2012, the resort was renamed as The Quad.
■ The resort was renamed again as The Linq in 2014, after a $223 million renovation.

To reimagine and redefine the Las Vegas experience, was the brief facing by Elkus- Manfredi Architects, architect of record Bergman, Walls & Associates. Together – over 2.65 million square metres – they have created an exciting adventure complete with 2,500 rooms, casino, retail space, spa, meeting centre, pool deck, parking garage, vortex roof, offices and highly efficient back of house facilities. Converted from Ceasers’ venerable Imperial Palace, the hotel property aims to appeal to the next generation who wish to enjoy the lavish nightlife. “The overall challenge for Elkus Manfredi Architects was to reinvent Ceasar’s outdated Imperial Palace hotel property in Las Vegas into an entirely new experience that appeals to the next generation of Las Vegas guests,” says Elizabeth Lowrey, Principal and Director of interior Architecture, Elkus Manfredi Architects. I add the dark frame to the picture to give the posts a screen format of 1920x1080 pixels
The idea is that, if you use the links in the text, you have a full screen image of the picture with the photo in the centre of a dark screen.
This works with the browsers and screens I use, but I’m not sure that everybody will have the same result.
