Photographer's Note

We were travelling west along Hwy 70 in Colorado in the morning and came across this colourful formation. Unsure of the name I have searched in the net, thinking at first that the butte was Mt Logan but them realised that it is Mt Garfield (no, not named after comic strip character) to the north of Grand Junction.
Looking at other photos of Mt Garfield I realised that the colours in the rocks vary considerably and are sometimes very pale.
I think that we were very lucky getting the sun and atmosphere just right for getting it at its most spectacular.
