Photographer's Note
Another one taken on a visit I arranged for a group of media students from my college in England to LA in 2000. I don't really do Theme Parks, and the few images in my portfolio taken in such places are all the result of student trips. The students always seem to enjoy themselves!
Waterworld is still a feature at Universal Studios after all these years. I grudgingly admit that it was quite spectacular!
As usual with my old film stuff, the neg was scanned on a Nikon dedicated film scanner @ 4000 ppi to give a 109mg, 16 bit file. Apart from a little cleaning, nothing else has been done to the digital file.

I sense a touch of wrath, here.
Maybe the fire and smoke reflect your humour.
Still, it is a sensational shot, certainly creating a mood of amazement and fear.
I must admit, I'm not a fan of theme parks but I think I would have enjoyed this.

Hello Will,
a spectacular scene captured and scanned in an excellent way. I like the intrigue and the mystery that entices us to study the whole scenery thoroughly and captivates us. The depth, the light and the colours are superb. There's intense sense of drama but the image has an abstract quality too. Congratulations and thank you!

When I saw this thumb nail I thought it was from the set of the movie itself, it looks brilliant. You did really nicely to capture this movie poster jeered such difficult light. I know the film was a complete flop but I thought it was actually okay, and I guess that if after all these years it still features in the theme park, it must have its die hard fans. The level of detail on the licking flames is class.

The first word that comes to my mind is: spectacular. I would have never guessed this is a photo taken in a theme park, I expected a note to say you got a new job as a war correspondent... ;)
Beautiful trannies, great for capturing highlights. I still remember the times when the setting sun was yellow or orange, not white.
Anyway... I'm adding this to my favs.

No wonder they enjoy themselves, places like this must offer great opportunities. This one is very good, looks so real and it's a good quality shot. You did a great work with the scanner. I like the details a lot and the flames make it impressive.

There is something quite special about watching a fire and its flames flicker into different forms and shapes. I find it quite memorising at times. A great mock up image with loads of warmth... Congrats
