Photographer's Note

I saw this cloud forming over the Superstition Mountains on my way home from work yesterday…so I hit the gas to get back as fast as I could, grabbed the camera, rushed out the door and drove a short distance away to catch this before it was blown away.

Some of the micro-burst storms that pass through Arizona can be quite intense and destructive. This one actually left a touch of snow on the very tops of the mountain range, not something we’re accustomed to seeing in the Valley of the Sun!?
