Hoover Dam Intake Towers

This is view upstream from Hoover Dam, where the Colorado River runs between the dam and Lake Mead, literally located just around the corner. Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States in terms of water capacity (when full). The white band on the rocks shows the high water level. However, the reservoir hasn’t reached full capacity since 1983 and is currently at about 40% of full capacity. The foreground features two of the four intake towers of Hoover Dam. These two are both located at the Arizona side.
