Photographer's Note

A boardwalk meanders over a marsh near Bouctouche, where serious efforts have been made to preserve threatened environment. Here and at the nearby Irving Eco-Centre, marsh areas and a 2km area along a large sand dune are protected from destruction and intrusion. Visitors may use the boardwalk to explore the dune's wilderness and its salt marsh.

Data is collected regularly for various research projects, including dune monitoring and exploration, an insect inventory, a butterfly count, and a migratory shorebird survey. The later afternoon sun provided some shadows and contrast for this capture.
