Photographer's Note

I stepped backwards off the trail along the lateral moraine to get a wider view of the surrounding mountains, but my pack and poles were in the way. So I decided, "what the heck, I'll incorporate them." I thought this looked like something Mountain Equipment Co-op, or MEC (Canada's version of REI) would use to sell their equipment.

This was taken near the end of the lovely Plain of Six Glaciers trail. Most people who hike this refer to it as the "tea house hike." Yes, there's a tea house along here. Frankly, who cares? The views from the trail are astounding, while the tea house is crowded and overpriced. Calgarians are funny. They live near some of the most fantastic scenery on earth, and yet they take the greatest pleasure in the least interesting parts of these mountains. Oh well...
