Photographer's Note

This shot was taken near Trois Rivieres on the way from Quebec City to Montreal. These are houses used by fishermen to protect themselves from the cold and the wind as they wait for some fish to come. It's on the Saint Lawrence river, with something like 2 feet of ice under our feet. Ice fishing is a popular hobby in Quebec, but there was almost noone there as it was monday.

There were about 40 houses, but I liked these ones that were a little bit isolated from the others. There was a very special mood with almost noone fishing, no noise, except the one of the cold wind. A very unusual experience...
