Photographer's Note

This scenic area in the centre of Quebec City, along the heights overlooking the St.Lawrence River, once served as a grazing pasture for the cattle of Abraham Martin,an early settler of New France.
These pastoral lands were eventually used as a battleground for a struggle that would decide the future of North America as we know it today.
Today, centuries later, the battlefield is not seen as a place of victory, nor as a place of defeated. It is simply a pleasant place for a relaxing walk in the park...shared and appreciated by the descendants of both battling parties under much more firendly terms.
For more detailed information on this famous landmark, refer to this Plains of Abraham site.
