Photographer's Note

Finally the season of spring, and into the grey dullness of the north blooms some of the brightest colours you have ever seen. This apple blossom - I believe it's actually a crab apple or small relative - is one of thousands bursting everywhere around this area of Ontario this month.

If you need to take a drive anywhere, just a stone's throw from the big cities around Lake Ontario is the Valley of Jordan, full of myriad fruit trees all in bloom at the same time this year, in all shades of white and pink. This is why people of the northern climates brag about their four full seasons! It just seems to have more of a punch, than when you have brightly coloured flowers all year.

Experimenting with the macro function of this new-to-me camera. Does very well in shade or sun, I think. This was in the shade. Though I think my focus point was a little off in this photo, I just really liked the fireworks effect of the bloom and buds.
