White Squall (1996), based on a true story, is a movie by Ridley Scott, starring Jeff Bridges and some young actors of the time

Christopher Skipper Sheldon is the captain of Albatross, a school sailing ship, living there with his wife Dr. Alice Sheldon and the crew.

In 1960 he sets out to sea with eight teenage boys from around the country. Being a very tough man, he uses tools of sailing for teaching boys discipline, respect, camaraderie Skipper isnt really loved by the boys, but deep inside boys start to discover and understand him

The voyage is a true adventure and big experience for all of them until Albatross is caught by a big storm in the middle of ocean. Some of the boys, members of crew and Skippers beloved wife Dr. Alice Sheldon die in the storm.

Skipper was accused of taking boys to a voyage that they werent capable of. In the court, as everyone was blaming him; parents, school managers, advocates, surprisingly boys, rescued from the storm, defend him

Christopher Sheldons licence was taken by the authorities and he never sailed again
