Photographer's Note

I took this photo on a visit to Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. This is the famous, yet not so well known, Temple of Bacchus. It is 69 meters long by 36 meters wide. Not only are most of its columns standing, its interior walls with intricate carvings are still very alive. It is simply amazing to see how the temple as well as the entire ancient roman site has survived 2000 years.
