Photographer's Note

This is one of the famous mosques of Esfahan. It used to be called the Shah's Mosque up until the revolution of 1979, when just about everything was renamed after Khomeini. So now it's called Khomeini's Mosque.

They way the light was shining on the wall just struck me and I wanted to capture this moment, especially with the rest of the mosque in the background. I felt like I was a photographer for national geographic or something.

The architecture in this mosque is AMAZING, and that word doesn't even do it justice! The mosaic work and attention to detail were mind-boggling and very awe-inspiring. But what really moved me is that the builders put all this detail and time and effort into building this mosque and others as a way to show the beauty of God and bring glory to God.
