Hello Gert,

Smart choice of a vertical frame and the Madonna and Child poster at top left caught my eye. 32c is not that bad. In Morocco it was 45c and 35 in the 'cool' of the early morning. But a cold drink is always welcome in any kind of hot weather, be it beer as depicted here or simply chilled water. Tfs

Everything but the girl?
I find this an excellently composed picture, good sharp and referring to the religion of the majority of residents of the southern part as well as to tourism which is an important source of income for that same part of the island.
So now you've created a new category on TE: 'nothing special'.
32° degrees is quite hot for October in the south of Europe but this must be nothing compared to the temperatures on your former Sahara trek.

I don't mind the meeting of different ideas, philosophy, religion, etc. as long as they respect each other in a civilize manner. At 32 C degrees a nice cool glass of beer will be very refreshing. I like the lighting of this capture and it has nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hello Gert,

As far as I recall, Cyprus has the hottest climate of all the Mediterranean islands so a stop for rehydration with a long cool beer is very necessary now and again.

And the atmosphere of your photograph is indeed hot, the bright sunlight striking the face and the beer glass of your subject. The background of the architecture of the lower parts of the church aids the composition which is also subtly enhanced by the canopy displaying and advertisement for German beer.

Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and excellent depth of field.

And, as always, your interesting note and a fine picture prevents this being classified as "nothing special" in my book!

Hello Gert,
what is special about this picture is how all the different and apparently irrelevant elements were brought together in such a neat and intriguing way, it's enticing to look for an explanation for this riddle. The light is very enjoyable and the warm colours too. My favourite detail is the winking glance of Our Lady to the viewer, it gives a playful twist to the scene. Congratulations and thank you!

Cheers! A blond lady drinks blond beer, but with the high temperatures is this real normal.
The old painting above is a nice addition.
A nice daily life picture too.

Yes, I know this situation it is very familiar scene. ... dangerous dehydration and debeeration ;) Anyway I like it. What could be better than a glass of a cool beer in a hot day.
Amazing way to use the Orthodox icon in this place. It could be helpful too.

The juxtraposition of the beer-drinking lady in the bottom right hand corner and the old sign with the lady in the upper left hand corner is wonderful and really well seen. Perfect timing for a great impression of daily life.

A stunning photo of, the atmosphere of the city, resulting in this corner of the most curious, by the counterpoint of the door with the image of the Virgin, the beer ad in the canopy, and the girl enjoying her cup good fresh beer, heat in the day, when most enjoyable.
Very good color, in tones very effective.
Good management of brightness and superb sharpness.

Fin balans mellan bilden uppe till vänster och kvinnan nere till höger. Bilden däruppe ser nästan ut som om den tillhörde ölreklamen. Det verkar ha varit en sådan dag som man kan få i sig vilket öl som helst, bara den är kall.

jag gillar ditt nya tema "Nothing special"! Ett väldigt användbart tema som öppnar möjlighet för publicering på TE för många av mina bilder:) Och varför inte, jag har fått intryck att vi båda uppskattar den typen av bilder? Förövrigt så gillar jag att göra "inget speciellt" när det är 32+. En uteservering i sällskap med en kall öl, mer behövs inte. Kul bild med bakgrundsmotivet som i tystnad beskådar törstiga turister:)

I have to disagree (again!)... with your "nothing special" statement. What about the brilliant juxtaposition of a religious symbol and the beer sign with logo? Also, local traditions and a product important from Germany? And the decisive moment when the girl is starting to take a sip from the glass? And if that wasn't enough all framed in delightful architectural details...
So NOT really not so special. :-)

"Looking after your health" - does that mean you were having a nice cold beer? I hope so. An excellent snapshot of daily life in this country, a country we don't often see featured on TE. I like the tight vertical framing, the good colours and dominant blue tones. The lady "looking after her health" is also an interesting and characteristic addition to the image.

I really don't like bears, I prefer water. haha.
nice angle catching the woman while we can see a view of Mary and Her baby. I liked the interactions of the human elements here.
