Photographer's Note

One of my favourite shots so far this year. I took this at dawn on what turned out to be a flat and dull day. It was the first time I travelled to this location for a dawn shot, and its quite some distance so I hoped for better lighting and was disappointed when it didnt materialise. I came so close to packing up and going, but decided to try and make the most of the journey and take some shots. I am so glad that I did because if I hadnt I wouldnt have had this shot. It really is a lesson to me that sometimes flat lighting can prove far more effective than the golden light that we all crave for. I love the colours throughout the image and the detail that the light helped me to capture. I look at this image and use it as a reminder to me that you should never give up - theres always something to photograph.
