Photographer's Note

This is the River Yeo which runs through the village of Cheddar in Somerset. Taken on a bright day in the height of last summer.

The village lies at the foot of the spectacular Cheddar Gorge which cuts through the Mendip hills. Settlements in the area date back to Roman times. The village is also famed for its cheese - Cheddar cheese being one of the most popular cheeses in the UK. In early times the cheese was left to mature in the coolness of the caves that surround the area.
