Photographer's Note

Seaview is a beautiful area tucked away on the NE corner of the Isle of Wight.
Usually i would come here for winter sunrise photos, but the last few days have had a huge tidal range and this meant that i could at long last capture a photo i have been waiting to take for a long time!
The tide had gone out beyond the outer sand bankand left the boats marooned on the sand (although there was a gully with about 1ft of water between me and the sand bank).
I got myself out on the sand bank started to take a few photos, but after about five minutes i heard a roaring noise, so i looked round to see what it was, and a wave that was bigger than me came crashing on to the sand bank behind me! The wave washed across the bank and in a panic i attempted to pack my gear up but realised i didn't have time, so i just grabbed it and started half running half walking, but the wave caught me (only about 2ft high by this time) and the water just washed by me and rapidly filled the gully ahead of me, and i ended up wading back through waist deep water with my camera bag and tripod above my head :o !

I used an ND8 Graduated filter
