Photographer's Note


The Black mountains in Wales is a vast region, populated mainly with sheep. So the postman is still nowadays a means of communication between villages even in this internet era. In fact, not all the locations are connected as you may well imagine.
We had parked the car on the A4069, and decided to walk acoss the mountain to Carreg Cennen Castle (on the far left of the picture)

We were having our picnic on a beautiful view point, in the region of Tairn Carn, when we spotted this red postal van.
Only a little red dot in this vast countryside, but so important !
As you can see on the picture, we are at the border between the arid mountain and the lush countryside.
