Photographer's Note

Another submission taken on the same day as my previous two submissions.
This is one of several locmotives which run on the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, this particular exmaple having been built around 1927 by Davey Paxman of Colchester. Together with four other sisters, No.2 'Northern Chief' was based loosely on Sir Nigel Gresley's full size A1 pacifics which were introduced on the London North Eastern Railway several years before. The RH&DR equivalents are approximately 1/3 body gauge and 1/4 track gauge of their real life counterparts.
The clear sky / bright sunshine this day proved a real headache in terms of exposure, even when shooting with the sun behind. An external flash gun was used to fill-in many shots, as was the case here.
