Photographer's Note

La commune de Balsthal est situe sur le cours de la Dnnern, au point de dpart de trois cols de la chane du Jura : le Hauenstein suprieur, le Passwang et la Scheulte. Elle regroupe les villages de Balsthal et Klus, ainsi que le hameau de Saint-Wolfgang.
Au dbut du XlIe sicle, une famille de la noblesse locale, fonda dans cette rgion un chteau et en fit le centre de sa seigneurie.
Situes dans un site pittoresque, les ruines du chteau de Neu-Falkenstein, se dressent au-dessus de la bifurcation de Saint-Wolfgang.

The municipality of Balsthal is situated along the Dnnern, in the point of departure of three passes of the chain of Jura: superior Hauenstein, Passwang and Scheulte. It groups together the villages of Balsthal and Klus, as well as the hamlet of Saint-Wolfgang.
At the beginning of the XlIe century, a family of the local nobility, based in this region a castle and made the center of its seigneury. Situated in a place of interest, the ruins of the castle of Neu-Falkenstein, raise themselves over the fork of Saint-Wolfgang.
