Photographer's Note

In Basel, today was one of the (fortunately) rare mornings with real fog. Only a few colours managed to oppose the numerous nuances of grey.

This image was taken on my daily stroll to work along the river Rhine. In the background you can hardly see the Mittlere Brόcke and a shadow of the St. Martins Church.

Technically I'm not quite happy with this image. I had to push the contrasts hard, resulting in visible noise (luckily hidden by megapixels). Any tips on how to treat low-contrast fog images in a more subtle way are greatly appreciated.
