Cσrdoba, Spain one of the most attractive destinations in southern Spain, is mostly represented by its famous Mezquita, the Moorish mosque (its construction started in 784), was converted to a Cathedral after the Reconquista..

The city is located in a depression of the valley of the Guadalquivir was founded in ancient Roman times as Corduba by Claudius Marcellus
Cσrdoba was the capital of the Roman province Provincia Hispania Ulterior Baetica, time of splendor, in which there were a lot of fantastic buildings. Great philosophers like Lucius Annaeus Seneca the Younger, orators like Seneca the Elder and poets like Lucan expressed themselves in those palaces. Later, it occupied an important place in the Provincia Hispaniae of the Byzantine Empire and during the Visigoth period.
In the 10th century, Cσrdoba was one of the largest cities in the world, as well as a great cultural, political and economic centre. In 11th century it was one of the most important capitals in Europe. People of the most different cultures and religions - Jews, Muslims and Christians - were living peacefully together, and important philosophers, scientists and artists emerged from here.
The old town contains many impressive architectural reminders of when Cσrdoba was the thriving capital of the Caliphate of Cσrdoba that governed almost all of the Iberian Peninsula. With this extensive historical heritage it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO the 17th of December 1984
With this background, I had to bring something of its daily live; while looking out from my balcony of the hotel I saw at night a city sleeping, but next morning there was activity, the night and day photos from the same view show the contrast.
