This old defensive wall, which has undoubtedly been restored, rises up around the old town of Avila. It was built at the end of the 11th century by order of King Alfonso VI of Castile.

A beautiful high wall , well taken from a good POV . I like especially the contrast of the golden old stones with the cloudy grey sky .

Very fine and strong wall, and as mentioned the tones of the golden stone and grey sky combine perfectly, the light in this scene is really great.

Having just returned from Spain, your beautiful photo makes me want to return immediately. This evokes such romantic images of the torrid history of this country. I love the warm gold tones and light, aswell as the details in the architecture. Great job, thanks for sharing.
