Photographer's Note

Flamenco is a genre of music, song and dance from the Spanish region
of Andalusia that grew as a mixture between Andalusian and Romani
music.

The flamenco dance or "baile flamenco" is known for its emotional
intensity, expressive use of the arms, proud carriage and rhythmic
stamping of the feet.

In its purest form the dance is always performed
solo, improvised rather than choreographed, with high dosis of
"duende" -an intensely focused, trancelike state of transcendent
emotion (you can see it both in the dancer and the singer in the
photo)-.

The Corral de la Morerνa is one of the most famous "tablao flamenco"
in the world and is considered by many as the "Cathedral of flamenco
art" in Spain.
