Photographer's Note

I have a bezillion old photos I have made over the years and I just bought a CanoScan 8800F to try and salvage some of them. I don't know. I have scanned a BUNCH of prints and some are okay and some just suck.
The slide I scanned, though, was fabulous.

I was using a Canon EOS650, but I don't recall which lens. I did a lot of PP work on this and I was just wondering if it's worth it or if there was anything any of you could do to make it better. I SAID it was Palma Mallorca, but it may have been Puerto Rico. I have a terrible memory. The only way I know the date is that it ws printed on the back. What I really HATE about this one is that mottled looking sky. I couldn't fix it.

Any suggestions? Is it worth the time?? Or should I just stick to slides? I haven't tried negatives yet. All help gratefully appreciated.
