Vatreni trn.

Vatreni trn (lat.
U kulturi moze porasti i do 4 m.
Jarke boje plodova privlace ptice.

Fire Thorn.

The fire thorn (Lat. Pyracantha coccinea) is an evergreen, tall shrub from the Rosaceae family.
The fiery thorn of nature grows in southern Europe, the Crimea, the Caucasus and Asia Minor.
The fireback is a wide-spread, thorny shrub that grows up to 2 m in height and as wide as natural habitats. It can grow up to 4 m in culture. The canopy is dense, with many intertwined branches growing in all directions. The branches have sharp spikes, about 1.5 cm long.
The leaves are spirally arranged on the branches on short petioles. They are narrowly elliptical, 2-4 cm long, dark in color and shiny.
The flowers are white to pale pink and tiny. The berries, similar to the berries, are small (about 0.6 cm in diameter), bright orange-red in color. They mature gradually, from September to October, and remain on branches throughout the winter.
The vibrant colors of the fruits attract the birds.
