Photographer's Note

There's a first time for everything.
My gallery is not known for papagolfade posts, but here is my first contribution for the Sunday tradition in TE. It's also an excuse for me to add another church to my collection and end this mini-series of Alvito, which is a not so well known but yet charming place, a village with a population of about 2700 inhabitants located in south Alentejo about 30km north of Beja.
This chapel was built in the 16th century and is gothic-mudjar in style, a particular trait of the gothic style in Alentejo.
It is located at the edge of the town of Alvito, so as to use their patron saint - Saint Sebastian - to protect the town from the plague.
Some say that it looks like a toy building and I agree. No people appear while I was there to give a better idea of the scale, but you can check out WS1 and WS2 to have a better idea of this 'cute' architecture seen from other angles and more distant POVs.
