Photographer's Note

One of my photos from 2005. Auchwitz was one of the most well known of the German War Camps. This particular camp, along with Auchwitz II (berkeneu) was used for the extermination of jews.

This photo was taken in a Polish autumn which there is nothing like in the world. The colours are just magnificent. The reason i like this photo is due to the fact it has the harsh realities of Auschwitz with the red brick wall, the metal barb barriers and the guard turrets. Mixed with a totally contrasting sunny day with beautiful colours in the back ground.

I always felt when looking at this photo that Auschwitz was like a storm. And that present day, what with people learning from, and visiting Auschwitz every day, and the beauty surrounding the area is the calm after the storm.

Thankyou for looking.
