Photographer's Note

My last trip to the Tatra Mountains and view of Black Pond.

Black Pond ( Polish Czarny Staw Gasienicowy ) is glacial lake with a group of Gasienicowe Ponds in the High Tatras. It is situated at an altitude of 1624 meters above sea level circus glacier and is the fourth-deepest lake Tatra. Over its western shore they rise Koscielec wall. Black Pond is the largest lake Gasienicowa Valley and one of two located in the eastern part, sometimes called the Valley of the Black Gasienicowa (the second one is Zmarzly Pond ).

Lake has an oval shape, the water is transparent, colored sapphire. On the lake, near its north-eastern shore there is a small (310 m²) island overgrown with dwarf pine. It was built on the former mutonie. On an island that was planned in 1909. Build the mausoleum of Juliusz Slowacki, but as a result of protests conservationists did not happen. From the north lake closes the rock threshold from which flows Czarny Potok Caterpillar. Black Pond was artificially restocked in 1881. (Admitted to him the brown trout and spring).
