Photographer's Note

I took this picture from another plane Cessna 172 shortly after take off from airport near Nowy Targ during my tourist flight over Tatra and Pieniny mountains.

An-2 is an extremely durable, light, single-engine biplane which first flew in 1947. It is used as a light transport, capable of carrying 12 passengers, for parachute drops and agricultural work. The An-2 is the largest single-engine biplane ever produced. It was produced in great numbers; over 5,000 had been built by 1960 in the USSR. Since 1960, most An-2s have been built at Poland's WSK factory in Mielec, with over 12,000 made there before full production ended in 1992. Limited production from part stocks, as well as spares and maintenance coverage continues. Except of fact that An-2 is very out of date aircraft in Poland is still in use in Polish Air Force (!!!!) and a lot of them are in private hands like this one belonged to Podhalaρski Aeroclub.

Second picture from the same flight is available here: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Poland/photo462382.htm
